Our vision & values

Plastic does not belong in our oceans.
At Ocean Plastic Forum we wish to contribute to the removal of plastic in a way that supports the transition towards a circular economy.

Ocean plastic is a complex and wicked problem – and so is fixing it. But we also believe it is a resource that can and should be utilized.

Together with our members, we establish value chains in which ocean plastic waste is removed and recycled.

Our vision is to remove plastic waste from our oceans in a way that supports the transition to a circular economy.

Our values

Sustainability

All our activities are marked by the ambition to improve the aquatic sphere through the prevention, reduction, and clean-up of maritime plastic pollution in a way that is both environmentally and economically sustainable.

Collaboration

Collaboration is at the base of all our operations. The dirtier and disparate the plastic, the closer you need to collaborate in the value chain to end up with a final product that people want to buy.

At Ocean Plastic Forum we seek to facilitate close collaboration between actors. We aspire to constantly learn from and inspire others through our projects.

Openness

Openness and trust are crucial when setting up and running a value chain with close collaboration. At Ocean Plastic Forum we are dedicated to open communication and knowledge sharing to the benefit of all.

The upcycling and reintroduction of ocean plastic waste into the circular economy is a common goal among our members which can only be solved through open and honest communication.

Translating thought into action

Action speaks louder than words. At Ocean Plastic Forum, thoughts are quickly translated to action. We are hands-on in our operations and focused on acting as soon as possible through learning-by-doing.

Optimism

We believe that every little bit can make a change, and we always believe in even the unlikeliest of projects. We would rather try and fail, than having not tried at all.
