Ocean Plastic International Matchmaking 2025

Dec 9, 2025 | Event

On Thursday the 4th of December we held our annual Ocean Plastic International Matchmaking (OPIM).

Last week, more than 80 participants from 22 countries gathered for the event, and it was a day dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and action against ocean plastic pollution.

Throughout the day, over 50 targeted meetings took place between startups, researchers, investors and NGOs. From deep-tech solutions to circular value chain models, it was clear that innovative ideas and strong partnerships are already shaping the future of cleaner oceans.

Highlights included:

  • Keynotes from Seabed 2030 and WWF on how open data, AI and robotics are transforming ocean protection.
  • A packed Innovative Ideas Session, with pitches focusing on detection of seabed litter and waste traceability.
  • Matchmaking sessions that sparked new collaborations across sectors and continents.

We’re incredibly grateful to all who took part, whether on stage, in meetings or behind the scenes. The ideas, questions and commitment is what make OPIM such a unique space for progress.

We are already looking forward to next year – keep and eye out at www.opim.info for updates in the new year!
