The Interreg project, “Circular Ocean-bound Plastic,” was officially launched in January 2024.

Jan 17, 2024 | COP Interreg

In the Interreg project, supported by Interreg South Baltic with funding from the EU, the Ocean Plastic Forum will collaborate with Danish, Swedish, German, and Polish partners to identify challenges, opportunities, and best practices for collecting and recycling ocean plastic in the Baltic Sea.

With the project’s launch, a visual identity has been developed, including a distinctive logo, website, and LinkedIn page. The project was initiated with the issuance of a press release, as highlighted in Plastforum.dk’s article on the project.

The first phase of the project involves comprehensive data collection to establish a baseline for existing waste flows in pilot cities and to examine existing collection options and technologies. Based on this information, a country-based report will be published on existing waste flows and business opportunities. The project will actively participate in and organize events related to the issue of marine plastic in the Baltic Sea.
