Mini seminar: Current state of chemical recycling of difficult plastic fragments

Apr 3, 2023 | Event

On Monday May 22nd, Dansk Materiale Netværk will host a mini seminar in collaboration with Ocean Plastic Forum, in which the focus will be a status update on the chemical recycling of difficult plastic fragments.

In the summer of 2020, Plastindustrien cohosted a conference on chemical recycling of plastic together with CLEAN. At the conference, there were many exciting presentations from a wide range of companies, researchers, decision-makers, and advisors, where the focus was on both potentials, challenges, and barriers for these methods to be a path towards a circular future.

Three years later, chemical recycling has not yet reached its full potential, but much has happened, and therefore this mini seminar is now being held, where the status and the latest results are presented. How far have we come? What challenges can currently be identified? E.g. environmental, ressource, and commercial aspects. And how do we move on from here? Are these methods the future solution of recycling of difficult plastic fragments?

The speakers will include scientists and researchers form different institutions as well as companies from the industry, who will present their most recent results.

For those who are interested, it will be possible to see Plast Center Denmark’s new pilot pyrolosis facility.
