In the autumn of 2022, Julie Storm, owner of Manga Street, went to Athens to receive the world-famous ‘PRIZE DESIGNS Award for Modern Furniture and Lighting’, which was awarded to the Scoop Ocean product. The historic prize was first awarded in 1949 by the Museum of Modern Art (Moma) to highlight cutting-edge design in the World.
Scoop Ocean is a flowerpot for industrial purposes and public spaces, which consists of 50% recycled fishing nets, collected from the World’s oceans. Scoop Ocean is accompanyied by the pouf, Scoopi Ocean.
Designer Julie Storm: “I am so proud of this project that turns fishing net trash into high-end design products. Recycling raw materials is important in so many ways. We must look at waste with new eyes. It is gold that lies there in the oceans and in landfills.”

Huge congratulations to Julie and Manga Street who we are very proud to have as a member in Ocean Plastic Forum!
