With official project launch on the 1st of September, the project “Collection of Ghost Nets – and the Story of it – in the Marine Nature Reserve Øresund” is now up and running. In the project, the association, in collaboration with our partners, will register and collect ghost nets and other abandoned fishing gear in Øresund.
Head of Secretary Thomas Alstrup states: “We are […] grateful for the important support from, among others, the A.P. Møller Foundation, which will kick-start the restoration of nature in Øresund and at the same time help raise awareness about plastic pollution in the ocean through the project’s documentary broadcasts.”
The project is carried out in collaboration with the Danish Sports Divers Association and CleanSeabed. The documentary telling the story will be produced in collaboration with Ukendt Media and author/speaker Gittemarie Johansen.
